Interfaith Walk - Dove Stone Reservoir 19th Aug. 2017

Oldham Interfaith Forum visited one of the most beautiful parts of the country walking around the Dove Stone Reservoir in Greenfield, Saddleworth.

While the weather was variable; alternating between rain and sunshine with high winds, and not quite as sunny as the first photograph - taken in July, the scenery was still impressive and the bracing walk was enjoyed by all.

 

Discussing how different Faiths deal with Death

Oldham Interfaith Forum held a group discussion at St. Paul's Church Oldham.

The discussion was introduced by Roger Gould of Uppermill Methodist and IFF chair and given additional context by Phil Sumner of St. Patrick's who referred to a recent accident taking place close to St. Paul's when 2 young women were hit by a reckless driver and died.

The discussion broadened with contributions from the members of the varied faiths present illustrating each's attitude and aprroch to dealing with death.

Jit Kara spoke on Hinduism, Mufti Helal Mahmood on Islam, Nick Andrews and James read gave Christianity's view.
